TEXAS SCRAMBLE RULES

 

IMPORTANT: Golf will be a “shotgun” start. Please be aware of your starting hole and be on the tee box ready for the horn, sharp, at the start time of 11:30 AM. Mayfair Lakes staff will direct you to your starting hole. Please also abide by the dress code at Mayfair Lakes.

 

Our golf today will be played in a Texas Scramble format. For those that may not be familiar with a Texas Scramble, here’s how it works;

 

• Each player in your team foursome hits his or her tee shot from the tee box.
• The best shot is selected and all players of your foursome play from that position.
• Each team member must have at least three of his or her tee shots used during the round.
• Play continues in this fashion, choosing the best shot and all players hitting from that position, including putts, until the ball is holed.
• Once the ball is holed the hole is finished even if there is still a team member to play.
• Record the team score on your team scorecard. Please return the scorecard to the Mayfair Lakes Golf Shop at the conclusion of play.
• Please be aware that there is only one tee marker for everyone on all Hole-In-Ones. Mulligans are excluded on these holes.

 

In the interest of keeping the golf and the evening activities “on time” we ask that you please keep the pace of play moving and keep up with the group in front. Marshals will be circulating on the course to keep things moving. There will be a “stop play” time of 5:00 PM. The horn will sound to signal the time. Have fun, enjoy the day and the evening activities, and remember, it’s all about the kids!
