WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

Some organizations who benefit from our work:

Canuck Place Children's Hospice

Canuck Place is a story of courage and vision, and a shining example of the good that comes from individuals and organizations seeing a need in their community and working together to fill it. In this case, there was a need to provide another care option for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families – an option that would give families the added flexibility to access hospice care when hospital or home care could no longer meet their needs.

This vision became reality in November 1995 when Canuck Place opened as North America's first free-standing children's hospice. To this day, it remains the model for children's hospices in North America providing hospice care free of charge to children and their entire families. Today, it is regarded as one of the leading children’s hospices in the world.

The Canucks for Kids Fund strives to make a difference in the community through partnerships with not-for-profit organizations. Over the past two decades, the Canucks for Kids Fund has contributed millions of dollars in its commitment to charities in BC.

James Gilmore Elementary School

As a school community, Gilmore Elementary recognizes that all students are individuals who should be encouraged to develop at their own rate within a supportive learning environment. All children should have the opportunity to develop a sense of self-worth and feeling of pride in their own achievement. While schools traditionally have been entrusted with the intellectual development of children, we believe growth of the whole child must be fostered.

Due to the generous donations of YVR Golf for Kids, James Gilmore Elementary School has been able to support many of its students in very enriching and rewarding educational activities.

Richmond Christmas Fund

Volunteer Richmond Information Services understands that not everyone is fortunate. Many families in Richmond live with only the barest of necessities. During the holiday season, financial pressures are particularly tough.

Each year, the Fund distributes grocery vouchers to low-income Richmond residents so that every family has the opportunity to sit down to a joyful holiday celebration.

Over 1,000 children 15 years and younger receive numerous gifts ensuring that no child needs to return to school in January without a wonderful story to tell.
